Zaki: Isn't that just too bad for you?*
Khazan: ...I see.
Khazan: But he couldn't have gone far.*
Cha-Cha: Zaki...

Hijiri: Why does Tatara care about that guy so much?
Asagi: That guy's a tough fighter. He might only be knocked out.
Hijiri: Still...*
Hijiri: I understand you a little better now, Tatara.
Hijiri: Why people see you as the Savior...
Hijiri: The reason you've come to gather allies...

Tatara: Everybody, I won't abandon you...
Tatara: With tottering steps and tears in my eyes, I'm coming for you...*
Soldiers: Who?
Soldiers: Who is that?
Hijiri: Is that clear?
Hijiri: Let's do everything we can as guards of the Shrine!*
Hijiri: So long as we've got it in us,
Hijiri: ...we'll keep going.

Tatara: My eyes hurt...
Tatara: Everything's blurred...
Tatara: The Nagi tree...is red...
Tatara: It's...burning...
Tatara: The Red King...
Tatara: He governs a desert region.
Tatara: I've always wished it was green.
Tatara: And now he's burning this mountain...as if it was nothing.
Tatara: He really is...a demon.

Tatara: A demon of destruction...!
Tatara: I won't let him kill any more people!
Tatara: Nagi Tree.
Tatara: Please give me the strength I need!
Tatara: To protect two people...!!

Zaki: Cha-Cha!
Zaki: Get up!
Zaki: Hurry and escape!
Zaki: This building won't last much longer!
Zaki: Cha-Cha!
Khazan: It's no good.
Khazan: She'll soon be in hell.*

Zaki: That child was born,
Zaki: ...to our ailing leader.
Man: It's a girl.
Man: Too bad...that it's just a girl.
Woman: Zaki...
Woman: Take care of that child, okay.
Woman: Do it for me, please...
Zaki: Ma'am.
Zaki: Ma'am.

Pirate: We can't help it if it's a girl.
Pirate: It's the law. Whoever becomes this girl's son-in-law will be the next leader.
Pirate: Zaki, as the son of our substitute leader, you'll marry her someday.
Zaki: Cha-Cha...
Cha-Cha: If I'm the leader's child,
Cha-Cha: ...how come I'm not the leader?!
Zaki: 'Cause you're a girl.
Cha-Cha: Who decided that?
Zaki: Our ancestors.
Cha-Cha: Those old dudes ain't here! I don't know them!

Cha-Cha: What if I'm strong?!
Cha-Cha: Then they'll have to accept me?!

Cha-Cha: Whoever's the strongest should be the leader.
Cha-Cha: That makes perfect sense.
Pirate: Cha-Cha beat them all! That's 30 guys in a row!

Pirate: She's so young too.*
Pirate: Zaki! You're the only one left.
Cha-Cha: If I beat you, I'll be the leader.
Zaki: Cha-Cha...you should be our leader.
Cha-Cha: Ain't too ambitious, are you?
Zaki: I do have an ambition...a wish...only one.

Zaki: That is to be with you.
Zaki: In these times,
Zaki: In these hard times,
Zaki: ...it's difficult to live as an independent woman.
Zaki: But, when you decide to do something,
Zaki: ...no matter how much you have to suffer, you get it done.
Zaki: I'll be your shadow.
Zaki: My heart has decided...since that morning when you were born.

Tatara: Zaki!
Tatara: Cha-Cha!
Tatara: Answer me!
Tatara: Zaki!
Tatara: Cha-Cha!
Zaki: Tatara!

Nagi: A fire...just went out.
Nagi: Who was it...this fire of life...
Nagi: Amen...

Tatara's lost companions: Nagi-sama?! Nagi-sama.
Tatara: Zaki...
Cha-Cha: Za...ki...
Cha-Cha: No...
Cha-Cha: It can't be.
Tatara: Cha-Cha...
Cha-Cha: NO!
Cha-Cha: He can't!!!

Tatara: Cha-Cha...
Tatara: I pray to you God.
Tatara: In whatever language...I don't know.
Tatara: Nagi...Kaku-jii...Hayato...everybody...
Tatara: Shuri...please protect them.
Hijiri: Tatara!!
Tatara: Yato!
Tatara: Go!
Hijiri: TATARA!

Shuri: Yo, Sakaki. (Eating something like a bean-jam bun)
Sakaki: Water, Sir?
Shuri: We came here to capture Khazan, right?
Shuri: But he was probably just using Tatara's mother as a lure. He's been trying to capture Tatara all along.
Shuri: Don't you agree?
Sakaki: Your Highness!
Sakaki: Do you mean to forgive the General?!
Shuri: That man ain't as strong as he used to be.
Shuri: Hurry and go find him.
Sakaki: Ye...yes Sir!
Sakaki: Right away!

Khazan: That...
Khazan: ...was quite a hit he struck me.
Khazan: Tatara...
Khazan: Ah, what a shame. He escaped unharmed.
Khazan: So...
Khazan: ...please...
Khazan: ...cheer up.

Chigusa: You...didn't help Tatara, did you?
Khazan: I said no such thing.
Khazan: I may be dying,
Khazan: ...but I'm still Khazan, the great general of the Red Army.
Sakaki: General!
Sakaki: General Khazan!

Sakaki: General...
Sakaki: General.
Sakaki: The Red King has pardoned you! Please come back with me!
Khazan: I...have betrayed the Red King...
Sakaki: No!
Sakaki: You,
Sakaki: ...you used Tatara's mother in order to capture Tatara, right?
Sakaki: The Red King understands that now!
Khazan: That's not true!!

Khazan: As I got to know Tatara's mother,
Khazan: ...I fell in love with her.
Khazan: It was my decision.
Khazan: That's the truth.
Khazan: I should be judged.
Khazan: Judged.
Khazan: I did not use Miss Chigusa!!!
Sakaki: Please understand the King's sympathy, General!

(To better understand the following scene, I'll have to explain some things: Harakiri is a vulgar reference to seppuku, which is the ritual form of suicide used by Japanese samurai and is considered a very honorable way to die. The proper form of this suicide involves two people: the person who is committing suicide, and another person - called kaishaku or "second" - who chops off the former's head at the end. The person committing suicide first recites a death-poem, then he makes 3 cuts in his own stomach, basically slashing in the shape of a triangle. After the third and final cut, the person standing behind him chops off his head.

This "second" person is no random executioner, he/she is often a close friend or relative of the person committing suicide, and has been personally chosen by the "suicider." It's a great honor to serve as the "second" for someone. Traditionally, many women have been "seconds." As you shall see, Chigusa serves as Khazan's "second," and Khazan does recite a death-poem before dying.

All of these elaborate ceremonies, not to mention the excruciating death, serve to elevate seppuku above any other type of suicide - which are still seen as the cowardly way out - into the only thing one can do to remove shame and dishonor from oneself and one's family. Through the years, seppuku have been performed by samurai warriors, government officials, and political activists.)

Shuri: Khazan, you're so tactless.
Shuri: That's why you need someone like me to guide you.
Shuri: I'm going to be sent to a desert somewhere.
Shuri: But...I get to have my way there...so it'll be fun.

Khazan: I charge up the hills of Adashino.
Khazan: And continue running.
Khazan: Into the other world.
Sakaki: General!
Sakaki: General!!
Khazan: For the Red King.
Khazan: Guh.

(Khazan mentioned "the hills of Adashino" in his death poem. For those who are curious, Adashino refers to Adashino Nembutsuji, which is widely regarded as a place of sadness. In olden times, the bodies of those who died without friends or relatives were left there unburied.)

Hayato: Where's Tatara?
Hayato: Tatara...
Hijiri: I don't know!
Hijiri: God knows where that fool is.
Hijiri: So stupid...
Tengu member: Are you sure he'll come?
Tengu member: That building collapsed! And he already got his hands full carrying her (Cha-Cha).
Hayato: Tatara. Damn it!
Hayato: I should'da been there with you!

Tatara: Is everybody,
Tatara: ...okay?
Tatara: That's...good.
Voice: Tatara!
Cha-Cha: Tatara!
Tatara: I'm...fine.
Tatara: Look after...Zaki...and...Yato.
Voices: He's badly burned.
Voices: But he's still breathing.
Voices: Get the doctor!
Voices: Tatara! You too. Your eyes need to be treated! Let's head back.
Cha-Cha: Tatara. Tatara. Tatara...
Tatara: Cha-Cha...

Hayato: Wait!
Hayato: The Red Army!
Rebel: Get down.
Rebel: Should we fire some arrows?
Rebel: Don't. We've got injured people with us.
Rebel: At the front, could that be...
Rebel: It's the Red King.
Tatara: The Red King?!
